Long Island hospitals have plans in place if they begin to see cases of Ebola.
Mercy Medical Center in Rockville Centre, like other hospitals, says it is following strict protocols in case it has patients with Ebola symptoms.
Part of their guidelines includes asking patients to tell medical staff if they've traveled to West African countries where Ebola is endemic. They have also been running practice drills.
Dr. Glatt, of Mercy Medical Center, believes there will likely be additional cases of Ebola diagnosed in the U.S., but that it will not become a public health crisis in this country.
