A judge granted permission for the girlfriend of the estranged husband of a missing New Canaan woman to leave the state, Friday.
A hearing was held this morning for the Michelle Troconis who is charged with tampering with evidence and hindering prosecution in the case of Jennifer Dulos, a missing mother of five.
Lawyer Andrew Bowman, who represents Troconis, filed a motion to amend conditions of her release on Tuesday. Bowman  requested Troconis be able to travel over state lines through the Fourth of July weekend to stay with a friend.
Troconis is the girlfriend of Fotis Dulos, Jennifer’s estranged husband who is also charged in the case.
A judge granted Troconis permission to travel out of the state, but says she will be under house arrest at the location she is staying. She’ll also be monitored by GPS and must return to Connecticut if  there are "any problems."
"If we are going to allow her to do this, we need to make sure we have a really tight leash on her," said Rich Colangelo, state's attorney. "And I would request that if she was to go to this property that she not be able to leave that property, that it be kind of house arrest."
Meanwhile, attorney Norm Pattis, who represents Fotis Dulos, released a statement Thursday requesting the state drop charges against Troconis so that she can testify in Fotis' defense.
"Michelle provides Fotis a complete alibi for the morning of Ms. Dulos's disappearance. Yet most likely she will not testify so long as the state presses its meritless claims against her. We are calling on the state to drop the charges against Michelle so that she is available to testify in Fotis's defense. We're asking that the charges against her be dropped so that she can feel free to testify without fearing the consequences," Pattis says.
The court documents filed by Troconis' lawyer also stated that she further requested the court to enter an order prohibiting Fotis or his attorneys, agents or representatives from having any contact with her.
A judge agreed to a no contact order between Fotis and Michelle and says Michelle is also to have no contact with any member of the Dulos family.
"Mr. Dulos' attorney's public statements and his most recent motion have been filed and made solely to serve the purpose and interests of Mr. Dulos at the expense of Michelle Troconis," Bowman says. "I would ask the court to favorably consider this motion. She is a reliable person, and I would ask the court to grant it."
Jennifer has been missing for a month and her estranged husband and his girlfriend have been charged with tampering with evidence in the case and hindering the prosecution.
