The New York Islanders won their first game at their future home in Brooklyn by defeating the New Jersey Devils, 3-2.
Former first-round draft pick Ryan Pulock scored a power play goal in the first period, becoming the first Islander to score a goal at the Barclays Center. The Islanders were shutout at their first preseason game in Brooklyn last year.
The Devils later tied the game 2-2 and both teams went to the shootout. Brock Nelson scored the winning goal in the third round of the shootout against Devils goalie and Farmingville native, Keith Kincaide.
The Islanders play their next preseason game Tuesday in Boston against the Bruins.
