Huntington Town Superintendent of Highways

Clark, 61, of Greenlawn, is running on the Republican, Conservative and Independence tickets. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and management from Dayton University. He retired as managing director and chief administrative officer of J. and W. Seligman. From August 2015 until May 2016, he temporarily served in the Huntington Highway Department as a deputy superintendent. He is married, with three children.

“The town of Huntington Highway Department is a huge operation,” Clark said. “In my past I’ve managed more than 600 people, I’ve run operating budgets over $50 million, I’ve run facilities in three different locations in the United States, I’ve handled over 2 million clients as customers, so my background fits in well with the requirements for the highway department, where operating and capital budgets are over $40 million annually and 150 people plus.”

Orelli, 66, of Huntington, is running on the Democratic, Green, Working Families, Women’s Equality and Reform party lines. He lost a Democratic primary four years ago for highway superintendent. He is a Huntington High School graduate. He runs a family-owned site improvement contracting business, and is a member of the Huntington Township Chamber of Commerce and a 44-year member of Local 138, the operating engineers union. He is married with three sons.

Orelli said he decided to run because he is at a point in his life where he is ready to give up his business and take on a new challenge. “This is a job where I can add some value to the town I love. I have the knowledge, skill and experience to do the work,” he said. “One of my greatest strengths is working with people and dealing with stressful situations in a calm, thoughtful way. I think I can do a terrific job administering the duties of highway superintendent.”
