Brookhaven Town Supervisor Ed Romaine is facing an aggressive challenge for his post.
Romaine took office 11 months ago in a special election. He says one of the things he's most proud of is his plan to protect the Carmans River from development. He says he's also gotten a handle on the town's finances.
It hasn't all been smooth sailing for Romaine, who was on vacation when a blizzard crippled the town. He didn't return for several days after the storm hit.
Democrat Vivian Viloria-Fisher is challenging Romaine for his seat. She says she'd be a more hands-on supervisor.
Both candidates are former teachers and former county legislators, and both say they have the skills to fulfill their visions.
