A video of a Brooklyn man dancing in his wheelchair at a festival has gone viral on social media.
In a video viewed by millions, Brooklyn resident Jermaine Greaves is seen dancing in his wheelchair, letting nothing stop him from having a good time.
Greaves begins dancing on his legs in what seems like a magical moment.

"I kind of stood up to kind of show, ‘OK I’ll sit up, but I can go toe to toe with you, and dance, and stand up and bust a move too.’ That was my way of showing that I'm not just sitting in a chair. I could, but there's more to me and I just wanted to have a dance battle and have fun," says Greaves.

The dance battle seen around the world happened at Brooklyn’s popular Afropunk Festival last month.

Greaves says he wants to show people that they can do anything, despite their disabilities.

"I can do all these different things, it gives other people that also are disabled and look like myself a chance to know that they can do it too. My purpose in life is to be a light for other people so they know that they can live their truth,” says Greaves.

He has become an advocate for people who have challenges with his company Not Like the Other Kids, which raises money for people overcoming obstacles.

"Now we're helping people, now we're giving back. Now we are engaging in positive dialogue about how to change the community one borough at a time, one school at a time, one kid at a time,” says Greaves.
Greaves, who was born with cerebral palsy, says the confidence instilled in him by family has helped him to not feel as if he were different and he wants to continue helping others feel the same.
