Dozens of students in Allerton learned about the glamour of Broadway Monday as 'Inside Broadway' made its way through the borough during its citywide tour.
The event aims to give students an inside look on what Broadway is all about.
The program, which was founded by the city, spends 10 weeks on the road performing at over 50 public schools throughout the Big Apple.
This year, it’s paying tribute to one of the pioneers of Broadway, Oscar Hammerstein II, known for his lyrical genius.

Council Member Andy King has also been funding the program for the past five years. He says it’s a tour that gives students a chance to come out of their comfort zones.

A total of 30 third graders got selected to learn hands on from a professional Broadway star and perform in their own play.
