A year after Hurricane Maria devastated Puerto Rico, many Bridgeport families say they're still struggling to help relatives who live there.
Francis Moore and Jeanette Herron both have family living in Puerto Rico, whose lives were turned upside down by Hurricane Maria.
Moore says she has been working overtime to send her family in Puerto Rico extra money to help them rebuild.
Herron says the majority of hurricane refugees who came to Bridgeport have returned to Puerto Rico.
She also says she'll never forget the incredible relief effort Bridgeport organized in the wake of the hurricane, when the need was most critical.
The women say that while many people in Puerto Rico still need assistance and hope efforts in Bridgeport will continue, they believe their families will pull through.
