Hundreds of people in Watertown paid their respects to a brother and sister gunned down by their mother's boyfriend.

Sterling and Della Jette were only a year apart and as close as siblings could be. Pictures of the two teens were at Veterans Memorial Park in Watertown for a vigil Friday night for everyone to see and remember.

Police say on Tuesday night after Della got home from a school trip, she complained about her mother's boyfriend, Paul Ferguson, and his smoking habits. Ferguson in a fit of rage shot and killed the two teens and then turned the gun on himself, according to police.

"They were some of the best people I ever met and they were some of the best friends," said Antonio Fusco, a friend of Della and Sterling. "Sterling was always there for us whenever we needed anything."

A GoFundMe set up for the family has raised more than $40,000.

Calling hours are Wednesday afternoon at Chase Parkway Memorial Funeral Home in Waterbury. Funeral services are Thursday morning at 10.
