ARMONK - Armonk homeowner and director Ron Howard was one of a select few to be inducted into the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences' Hall of Fame this week.

It may be easy to forget, but before Howard directed major motion pictures like "A Beautiful Mind," "Apollo 13" and "Parenthood," he was a popular TV actor.

Also, former Chappaqua resident Alan Arkin will star in "The Incredible Burt Wonderstone," a comedy about dueling magic acts. The movie hits theaters tomorrow.

In music news, Mamaroneck teen singing sensation Carly Rose Sonenclar will be donating her voice to a good cause tonight in New York City. Sonenclar, who was the runner-up on the second season of "The X Factor," will be singing at a gala to benefit the Starlight Children's Foundation.

The charity funds programming, education initiatives and family events for seriously ill children.
