A program in the Bronx is collaborating with national charities to make sure children's minds are growing while keeping them in fresh diapers.
At the HopeLine in the Bronx, they are working to get more children hooked on books through a partnership between the National Diaper Bank Network and the Clinton Foundation.

“Working with Chelsea Clinton and Too Small To Fail, we have been able to collaborate and bring the idea of children reading and parents reading and talking with their children while they are diapering,” says HopeLine Executive Director Maria Cintron.

At the HopeLine center, parents can get diapers, books and food for their families.
The executive director tells News 12 that they want to see families get the help that they need.

“We have heard sad stories that, unfortunately, some of our families have took a soiled diaper and shook it out and then placed it back on the baby, so the baby could be OK while they were running their errands for a couple of hours in the soiled diapers,” says Cintron.

She says donations are always welcome.
Another feature at the HopeLine is that families can make appointments and while they wait, there is a little library.

“This is a part of Too Small To Fail's broader efforts to meet children and families where they are in the everyday places they go with their children,” says Jane Park, the director of Too Small To Fail.

The National Diaper Network has over 200 community member diaper banks across the country. Meaning through this effort, thousands of books are getting into the hands of children.
