A new craft beer brewery company has launched in New Jersey.
Two New Jersey natives are behind the Hoboken Brewing Company, whose beers hit the shelves Thursday.
Andrew Zebrowski and Brendan Drury started brewing beer in their garage and won several home brewing contests. They say that this inspired them to go bigger and start making beer professionally.
“We wanted to actually represent New Jersey,” Drury says. “There isn’t a lot of breweries up in Northern Jersey…We saw that as a great opportunity to represent ourselves."
“[Hoboken’s] amazing. It’s got all young people. People really focus on mom-and-pop shops, artisanal products, things like that,” Zebrowski says. “A brewery is what was lacking.”
The pair partnered with a group called Brew-Hub in Florida to produce the beer and the first batch was delivered last week.
Hoboken Brewing Company offers two styles of beer; The Bodi Blonde Coconut Ale and the City Side New England IPA. Both are available in liquor stores and bars in Hoboken and Jersey City.
Zebrowski and Drury says that they now hope to expand their brand and to open a tap room in Hoboken.
