There is another proposal to put a different golf course in East Quogue, months after Southampton's Town Board voted down The Hills golf resort proposal.
Opponents worried the resort would contaminate the aquifer.
A public hearing before the town's planning board Thursday evening addressed a new plan by the same developer.
The new proposal would build 118 units of housing and an 18-hole golf course off Spiney Road in East Quogue.
