Health Dept. lifts bathing advisory for 19 Nassau beaches
The Nassau Department of Health on Sunday lifted its advisory against bathing in the water at 19 beaches in the county.
The advisory had been issued a day prior because of bacteria concerns following heavy rainfall Friday night.
Health officials say the beaches that were affected by the advisory typically see an increase in bacteria that may exceed bathing standards due to storm runoff after heavy rains.
The advisory had included 15 North Shore beaches and five South Shore beaches.

Creek Club - Lattingtown

Lattingtown Beach - Lattingtown

Laurel Hollow Beach - Laurel Hollow

Morgan Sound - Glen Cove

North Hempstead Beach Park - Port Washington

Piping Rock Beach Club - Locust Valley

Pryibil Beach - Glen Cove

Ransom Beach - Bayville

Theodore Roosevelt Beach - Oyster Bay

Sea Cliff Village Beach - Sea Cliff

Soundside Beach - Bayville

Stehli Beach - Bayville

Tappen Beach - Glenwood Landing


Biltmore Beach Club - Massapequa

Hewlett Point Beach - East Rockaway

Island Park Beach - Island Park
