A man from Hampton Bays has been arrested for allegedly driving while intoxicated with an 11-year-old child in the car.

Southampton police say they saw the man driving on Montauk Highway on Sunday, struggling to stay in the lane. They say the incident took place near the cross street of Gravel Hill Road just after 3 a.m.

Leandra's Law, also known as the Child Passenger Protection Act, makes it a felony in New York to drive while intoxicated with a child under 16 in the vehicle.
