Habitat for Humanity fulfilled another family's dream of owning a home Friday.

Tim and Candice Fowler lived in a tiny attic studio where they were raising their two small children. Now they will be moving into the 93rd home built by the charity in Suffolk County. Candice Fowler says the family would never be able to afford a home with the current real estate costs on Long Island. She also said she has visions of a garden and a basketball court adjacent to her new Central Islip home.

Habitat for Humanity officials said there are more than 500 families living in inadequate housing or in shelters in Suffolk County. They say the number of families applying for affordable homes is increasing every year. Officials added that groundbreaking on the organization's 100th house should happen later this year.
