Gov. Ned Lamont says the White House is asking Connecticut to accept about 300 Afghan refugees.
Lamont says the state will welcome them with open arms and that it's the state's obligation to make sure they have everything they need to relocate successfully.
The governor says the Department of Social Services will work with local cities, towns and agencies to find places for the refugees to live, work and go to school.
