Gov. Andrew Cuomo says he plans to bring speed cameras to school zones across Long Island, despite its exclusion from the New York state budget.

The governor said he will sign a bill that could bring more than 100 speed cameras to school zones.

Officials say the cameras could bring several million dollars to Nassau and Suffolk counties. They say Nassau is also counting on that revenue to help finance NIFA's lifting of the county's wage freeze.

Lawmakers put a speed camera bill into the budget, but it was ultimately eliminated. A revised version of the bill was submitted too late to be included in the budget. Gov. Cuomo says he will revisit the issue as soon as lawmakers return to Albany in a few weeks.
