A public forum is being held on a proposal to bring food, alcohol and live music to a Jamesport beach.
The Riverhead town board is considering a pilot program to turn the South Jamesport Beach concession stand into a full-service food stand.  That includes offering beer, wine and entertainment.
A local civic group tells Newsday it is concerned about the alcohol and litter.
A community forum on the issue will be held at the senior center in Aquebogue on April 30.
