A former St. John's lacrosse player from Melville has been convicted of stabbing his roommate.
The Queens district attorney says Matthew Stockfeder plunged a knife into the victim's gut during a fight over a party in 2019.
Stockfeder faces up to 25 years in prison. He'll be sentenced next month.
Stockfeder's attorney tells Newsday his client was "totally justified" and will appeal.
