A new opioid public service announcement featuring a familiar News 12 face debuted on Wednesday.
Retired News 12 anchor Drew Scott appeared in the ad that was shown at a forum focused on battling the opioid crisis on Long Island.
Scott lost his granddaughter to a heroin overdose in 2017 and serves on the Southampton Town Opioid Abuse Task Force.
At the forum, state officials also announced a $7.5 million initiative to expand substance abuse addition services in New York.
