The Fordham women?s basketball team hosted Marist in their home opener Wednesday night, but Marist came out on top 75-55.

The Rams were coming off last year?s nightmare season in which they went 3-25. Marist, on the other hand, made it to the Sweet 16 in the NCAA Tournament last year.

The Rams also lost their lead scorer from last season, Lisa Carrol, who averaged 16.5 points a game. However, they may have found their next star in Staten Island-native Megan Mahoney. Mahoney scored a team high 17 points against Marist.
