WASHINGTON - New York lawmakers are furious that the House failed to approve a $60 million aid package for Sandy victims.
Leaders in both parties say Washington has turned its back on the Northeast.
Rep. Peter King (R-Seaford) went so far as to say Republican House Speaker John Boehner put "a knife in the back" of Sandy victims by walking out without holding the aid vote.
The Sandy aid package must start all over again once the new Congress is sworn in tomorrow. A new vote isn't expected until at least the end of the month.
Meanwhile, Sandy victims on Long Island say it will be too late by the time there is a vote on the bill.
