WOODBURY - An investigation is underway into the emergency contracts awarded for Sandy cleanup, Newsday reports.

Nassau County District Attorney Kathleen Rice is reviewing the county's dealings with a Huntington firm set to be paid nearly $70 million for cleanup work.

A law enforcement source told Newsday that Rice also issued subpoenas involving several other contractors, involving wage or contractual complaints.

Rice's office would not confirm the investigation.
