Newsday says the village of Asharoken is looking into a multi-million dollar beach restoration project that would be paid for with Sandy funds.

ASHAROKEN - There are new concerns for a North Shore beach battered by Superstorm Sandy.

Newsday says the village of Asharoken is looking into a multimillion-dollar beach restoration project that would be paid for with Sandy funds.

However, if it accepts the money it would have to provide public access to its beach.

The village is now asking if it can keep part of its beach private if the project gets underway.
