LINDENHURST - A Huntington couple on a walk stumbled across a pair of headstones along the Great South Bay in Lindenhurst.

Bobby and Susan Yonkes, of Huntington, found the headstones on the beach in Venetian Shores, a section of Lindenhurst hard hit by Superstorm Sandy. One headstone has the name Anna Starr inscribed on it. Starr, described on the headstone as a beloved mother and devoted grandmother, apparently died in May of 1972.

The other stone just says Lillian with no last name. The headstone says she was born in 1901 and passed away in December of 1973.

It is unclear where the headstones came from and how they ended up on the beach. Police are asking anyone with information to call them.
