WOODBURY - A fight is brewing in Congress over federal aid for the Sandy recovery effort.

Democrats, led by our New York Congressional delegation, are asking for more than $60 billion, a plan the White House signed off on.

But Senate Republicans have proposed $24 billion, which would only pay for immediate recovery efforts. Republicans claim the rest of the money is for preventative measures, which they say can wait.
