NEW YORK CITY - The famous Rockefeller Center Christmas tree was lit Wednesday night.

The towering Tannenbaum from Shelton, Conn. has spent the last month getting decked out for the ceremony. There were musical performances by numerous stars, including Greenlawn native Mariah Carey.

The 76-foot tall Norway Spruce will remain lit through Jan. 7.
