WOODBURY - It was a night filled with winged fairies, ballerinas and princesses, and News 12’s Stone Grissom had a chance to attend the Sugar Plum Ball with his little princess this year.

Grissom says the night was a fairy tale. He says walking into the ball was like entering a Christmas classic with visions of sugar plum fairies, performing magicians and other magical sights.

The event is for girls and their fathers or significant other parent. Each year the ball raises money for the United Cerebral Palsy Association. Many participants say the night is about taking something that’s make believe and turning it into a reality.

The 18th annual ball was held at the Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury. Since its inception, the ball has raised about $2 million for the UCPA.
