BRIDGEHAMPTON - With two world-famous parents, it was hard to stay out of the spotlight as the world watched Alexa Ray Joel grow up on Long Island. These days, the singer-songwriter makes trips out East to just hang out and to perform.

In her most recent trip to the Hamptons, Alexa Ray Joel performed at a private show to benefit children in Southampton. She says her parents, Billy Joel and Christie Brinkley, have always been her number one fans.

"She's always there, front row and center, with 20 people crying and with the video camera out for every single show," says Alexa Ray Joel, of her mom.

During her shows, Alexa Ray Joel says she sometimes performs her father's songs. However, she says, she does it because his material means something to her, not because she has to.

Alexa Ray Joel plans to spend some more time out on the Island for the summer. She also hopes to perform at the Stephen Talkhouse in Amagansett before the summer ends.
