FIRE ISLAND - This week for our 12 Weeks of Summer series we head to Fire Island to check out the spots that are all about summer fun. 

News 12 Long Island's first stop is at the Fire Island Lighthouse. 

The crown jewel of Long Island's South Shore is easy to reach from Robert Moses and makes for a great summer time day trip.

The lighthouse was built in 1857 for a budget of $40,000. It's Long Island's tallest lighthouse with 182 steps.

Before you leave, don't forget to stop in the gift shop and get your signed certificate.
