POINT LOOKOUT - What better way to spend your summer vacation than with your family?! This week, the 12 Weeks of Summer series brings you some great ideas for family fun. First up, News 12’s Elisa DiStefano checks out Scotty’s Fishing Station.

Kids rule on Wednesday nights at Scotty’s Fishing Station, located near the Buoy Bar in Point Lookout.  The program is first come, first serve, but kids are guaranteed to have a blast.

“It’s really just a great program because it’s basically a catch and release,” says Roberta Doheny, of Scotty’s. “So it’s always fun to watch kids scream and yell ‘cause they all cheer each other on.”

For $20, participants get a T-shirt, a prize and dinner. The program runs every Wednesday, weather permitting, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Registration closes at 7:15 p.m. and space is limited. Kids can bring their own poles or rent one.
