BABYLON - What’s better than playing outdoors in the summer? Why not play a sport outside? News 12 Long Island is exploring outdoor summer sports – and headed to Cedar Beach for some beach volleyball!

More than 1,000 people play in the East End Volleyball League at Cedar Beach on Ocean Parkway in Babylon. Those who play say the nice breeze and party atmosphere are what make it fun to play on the beach.

According to Richard Doino, of Cedar Beach, there’s live music every night, so it’s always in the background during games. He adds that there are volleyball games every weekday night for all different skill levels.

Most say they just like to enjoy the outdoors and play with their friends.
