ROSLYN - News 12 Long Island's series 12 Weeks of Summer is highlighting many of the summer camps across Long Island this week. Erin Colton enjoyed some outdoor fun at Pierce Country Day Camp in Roslyn.
Pierce is the oldest day camp in America, having been established in 1918.
The camp hosts myriad activities, including its aquatics program, its spray ground, dubbed Water World, soccer, a bungee trampoline and zipline, among many others.
The campers also enjoy singing, and serenaded News 12 with the camp's traditional song.
According to counselors, no two days are alike, assuring that campers will never be bored. The programs offered are age specific, so each year a child comes back will be different from the last. Pierce grows with your child, counselors say.
Programs are offered from ages 3 to 9 and up. The camp runs from June 30 through Aug. 22, with different sessions available.
