The family of Lesandro "Junior" Guzman-Feliz was invited to Yankee Stadium Friday evening for a special ceremony to honor the slain 15-year-old.
Police say the teen was brutally attacked outside of a Belmont bodega last month by the Trinitarios gang. They say he was an innocent bystander.
Guzman-Feliz was a huge fan of the Bronx Bombers. His family wore New York Yankees jerseys on the day of his funeral.
Even though the Yankees game was rained out, Guzman-Feliz's family walked the field for a special honor to remember the 15-year-old. Junior was part of the NYPD Explorers Program, so the Yankees presented his family with a jacket of the explorers.
Guzman-Feliz's mother was emotional and thankful for the honor presented behind home plate. Even the 15-year-old's favorite player, Aaron Judge, was present for the honors.
At a game last month, the team wore patches with his initials as a tribute.
