Family of Irene Luetje wants answers after she's found dead in Massapequa

The 60-year-old was found dead on Feb. 14 in front of a vacant home on Ocean Avenue in Massapequa. (February 20, 2013)

MASSAPEQUA - A grieving family says they want answers after their loved one was found dead outside a Massapequa house last week.

Irene Luetje, 60, was found in the bushes outside a vacant house on Valentine's Day after she had been missing more than a month. Police say they're waiting for autopsy results, but there were no outward signs of trauma, and foul play is not suspected.

Luetje's sister, Lorraine Hauser, says something was very wrong with her disappearance, as she was found five miles from her house without her car.

In the meantime, police urge anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.
