Gas prices are at a record low this Fourth of July weekend, experts say.

Prices may be as low as $2.23, according to Robert Sinclair Jr., manager of media relations at AAA New York.

"We are seeing gasoline prices that are in fact the lowest of the entire year," Sinclair says.

He says gas prices are dropping quickly at the rate of about 3 or 4 cents per week.

Sinclair says there's no doubt consumers are happy, but they shouldn't get their hopes up because there is no telling when gas prices will go back up.
