WOODBURY - A Glen Cove woman plans on running seven marathons in seven days in an effort to raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

Eva Casale, 49, has been running for more than 30 years and has completed 51 full marathons. She admits she's never tried anything like this before.

“The challenge this week will be the heat, hydrating and fueling for each day,” said Casale.

Her boyfriend will be trailing her in a minivan equipped with medical equipment and items she may need along the way.

She has a team of people supporting her at the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in Hauppauge. Casale says she is running in honor and memory of about 60 people suffering from blood cancers.

She hopes to raise $7,000 each day for a total of $49,000 by the end of the week.
