MANHATTAN - The kick-off to summer in the Hamptons is only a couple months away, but the stars came out last night for a benefit for a staple of the East End, Guild Hall.
The 28th Academy of the Arts Lifetime Achievement Awards to benefit Guild Hall of East Hampton event was held at the Plaza Hotel on March 4. Stars littered the lobby of the Grand Ballroom ahead of the event, including Alec Baldwin, Nathan Lane, Matthew Broderick and Sarah Jessica Parker.
The honorees of the night were artist John Alexander for visual arts, biographer Walter Isaacson for literary arts, actor Nathan Lane for performing arts and philanthropist Mickey Straus, who received the special award for leadership and philanthropy.
Among the guest presenters were Dan Aykroyd, Alec Baldwin and Lorne Michaels.
The Academy honors both summer and year-round East End residents who have demonstrated excellence in the visual, literary and performing arts. Guild Hall is the Hampton’s year-round visual and performing arts center wholly dedicated to serving the residents, members, families and artists of the East End.
