LOS ANGELES - The award season will come to a close tonight, as stars gear up for the 86th annual Academy Awards in Los Angeles.

There are nine movies in coveted best picture category, and five nominees each for best actor and actress. “American Hustle,” “Captain Philips,” “Dallas Buyers Club,” “Gravity,” “Her,” “Nebraska,” “Philomena,” “12 Years a Slave” and “The Wolf of Wall Street” are all up for best picture, with actors in all the films up for not only best actor and actress, but also best supporting roles.

“American Hustle” and “12 Years a Slave” have already cleaned up at other award shows, including the Golden Globes for best motion picture in the comedy and drama categories, respectively.

The night is sure to be entertaining with Ellen DeGeneres hosting for the second time. Musical guests scheduled to appear are P!nk, Pharrell Williams, U2 and Bette Midler.  The list of presenters includes some past and present Oscar nominee and winners. Amy Adams, up for best actress for “American Hustle,” Bradley Cooper, Anne Hathaway, Samuel L. Jackson and Kevin Spacey are just a few on the long list.

The Oscars will air live at 7 p.m. ET from the Dolby Theatre at Hollywood and Highland Center on CBS.
