POINT LOOKOUT - News 12 Long Island’s morning crew donned sneakers and sandals in Point Lookout Thursday night for a good cause.

The Sneakers & Sandals Beach Ball, organized by News 12’s Elisa DiStefano and her fiancé coach Mo Cassara, was held at the Buoy Bar. All of the event’s proceeds went to the American Cancer Society’s Coaches vs. Cancer and the Mohawk Avenue Saint Foundation, which benefits Hurricane Sandy victims.

What made the night special was the fact that the Buoy Bar was completely flooded by Sandy, but the community worked together to get it up and running again, says DiStefano.

Those who attended sipped on specialty cocktails, snacked on tasty treats and bid on a bunch of raffles as the sun set over the Reynolds Channel.
