WOODBURY - A jury heard dramatic testimony in the trial of two accused Long Island gang leaders, including allegations of a hit put on a baby.
Heriberto Martinez and Carlos Ortega are accused of ordering and carrying out several murders on Long Island.
A woman who says she was a part of their MS-13 gang for a decade is a key prosecution witness, according to Newsday. That witness told a jury she overheard gang members discussing the murder of a 19-year-old Hempstead mother and her 2-year-old son.
Martinez is accused of approving the murders. Both men face life in prison if they're convicted.
