The state Attorney's General Office has released dramatic body camera video, from the perspective of a Jersey City police officer, of the deadly shootout at the JC Kosher Supermarket in December.
The video shows the officer across the street from the shooters, who were barricaded in the store. The officer was trying to end the threat, but the officer, and many others, came under heavy fire.
Officials say the shooters' motive was their hatred for Jewish people. They were identified as David Anderson and Francine Graham.
They shot and killed three people inside the store, and police say they had a plan to attack a nearby school.
Mindel Ferencz, 31, who owned the store with her husband, 24-year-old Moshe Deutsch, a rabbinical student from Brooklyn who was shopping there, and store employee Douglas Miguel Rodriguez were killed by the shooters.
According to federal investigators, the shooters also had a bomb in their van that could have killed people up to 500 yards away.
The heavily-armed killers were later shot and killed inside the store.
Before the shootout, the pair shot and killed veteran Jersey City Police Det. Joseph Seals at a nearby cemetery.
Investigators say the detective went to talk to them about their van, as police were looking for it in connection with a death the prior weekend.
