Dollar Tree is set to close or rebrand nearly 600 Family Dollar stores.
Dollar Tree announced plans to close hundreds of Family Dollar stores this year as it struggles to increase sales at the chain it acquired over three years ago.
Long Island has Family Dollar stores from Freeport to Coram  and Port Jefferson Station.  
There is no information about how Long Island Family Dollar stores will be affected.
