DNA test for Taconic driver's toothbrush
(AP) - A private investigator says atoothbrush used by wrong-way driver Diane Schuler will be used tomap her DNA and help determine whether tests that found she wasdrunk were valid.
Schuler killed herself and seven other people when she drove thewrong way on a New York highway in July.
The autopsy found the 36-year-old was very drunk. But herhusband, Daniel, said that could not be true.
His investigator, Thomas Ruskin, said Thursday that after DNA isextracted from the toothbrush, it will be compared to DNA fromblood and tissue samples taken during the autopsy. If they match, the correct samples were tested.
Ruskin said a new autopsy would then be performed. Schuler'slawyer announced Tuesday that Diane Schuler's body will be exhumed.
