Gov. Andrew Cuomo has called on the State Police Hate Crimes Task Force to investigate swastikas found at a Suffolk County state park.
Two swastikas were found on an abandoned building that used to be a psychiatric center in Nissequogue River State Park, according to a park spokesman. Graffiti was also found mentioning Anne Frank.
"It's terrible--I don't know who could've put them up there," said Denise Leone of Kings Park.
A jogger discovered a swastika and a white supremacist slogan in the same park in February. More hateful symbols were found on a building in March.
State police say they will be increasing patrols in the area.
Cuomo says he was "sickened" by the latest incident in Kings Park.
"In New York, we have absolutely zero tolerance for acts of intolerance, and we will continue to call them out whenever and wherever we see them," he said.
The governor vowed to have those responsible prosecuted "to the fullest extent of the law."
