State lawmakers discussed the next steps on sports betting Wednesday in Connecticut.

Following the Supreme Court's decision that clears the way for legalized sports betting, leaders from both parties say they need to come to a decision on the issue very soon.

They say it's now up to Gov. Dannel Malloy to create an agreement with the state's Native American Tribes on the issue.

"What we landed on is empowering the governor and work with the governor to negotiate a deal to get us up and running with sports gambling as soon possible," says House Speaker Joe Aresimowicz.

It is unclear if a special summer session will be necessary, but the state stands to gain significant revenue once sports betting begins.
