27ds agoCrews responded to Route 1 in Avenel Friday afternoon for reports of an SUV on fire.
Photos posted on social media show the vehicle fully engulfed in flames, scorching a portion of the highway.
Officials say it appears that the fire started in the SUV’s engine. Crews were able to quickly put the fire out.
It was not clear if anyone was hurt.
