Firefighters responded to a car fire and a brush fire Friday night in Brewster, according to officials.
Authorities say the car fire that broke out on Route 22 grew large enough to spread to the hillside next to it.
Putnam Lake and Croton Falls crews helped Brewster firefighters extinguish the flames.
Earlier that day, Brewster crews responded to a brush fire that began after a tree branch took down a power line on Milltown Road. Putnam Lake firefighters also assisted at the scene.
Power in the area was taken down so the fire could be put out.
