Nassau County is redoubling its efforts to repair its rockiest roads.

County Executive Laura Curran provided an update on the push to resurface 200 miles of county roadways in 2019. She says more than 165 miles have been completed so far.

Curran also announced a plan to repave an additional 200 miles at a cost of about $70 million.

"We're kind of in triage mode right now, getting as much done as we can. And then we can have a more regularly scheduled program," Curran says.
Frank Dalessendro, of Bethpage, says he has seen some improvements. "Parts of the Seaford-Oyster Bay are much better. Parts of it didn't really need to be done and they were done. But I'd like to see more done," he says.
The pavement management viewer, which launched earlier this year, allows residents to see which roads have been or are expected to be resurfaced.
